Kevin Maycock
Kevin has spent over 30 years as a teacher in three secondary schools in Walsall and Staffordshire, the last eight of which were as a Headteacher.
Since retiring from teaching, Kevin has been involved as a governor of four schools in the Penk Valley and John Taylor Multi-Academy Trusts. He is now Chair of Governors at both Penkridge Middle and Wolgarston High Schools.
As a Headteacher he has gained extensive experience of leading change and working collaboratively. He led the King Edward VI School to specialist status, and the Lichfield and Burntwood district to provide Vocational Education via the construction of a £2.5million skills centre. He has also been responsible for enhancing the performance of a large number of colleagues, improving student facilities and outcomes, and managing a large budget.
In seven years as a Governor in Brewood and Penkridge, he has learnt much about the local community and has been involved in supporting the schools on financial, curricular and HR matters.
