Yesterday was Celebration Day at Wolgarston for Year 13 students and their parents and valued others. Governors, staff, parents and grand parents joined together to celebrate the achievements of our Year 13 students as they prepare to leave the Wolgarston fold for pastures new. Head of Sixth Form, Mr Simmonds, took the role of MC in an enjoyable ceremony held to present subject awards and special awards for students. The proceedings started with Molly Stanfield playing I Giorno by Ludvico Einaudi on Piano and Dan Beales, Head Boy, brought the proceedings to a close with a solo performance of Classical Gas by Mason Williams on acoustic guitar. Following the ceremony, as the party moved to the school lawns, students were presented with a group photograph as a souvenir and a sumptuous buffet was enjoyed by all. This is the 8th year we have held this very enjoyable Wolgarston afternoon and this is now the traditional close to a student’s life at Wolgarston High School. We wish all our Year 13 students the very best for their futures beyond Wolgarston and look forward to celebrating with them on Thursday 17 August when they collect their final results.
