Penk Valley Academy Trust Announcement

Penk Valley Federation is already nearly two years old, and now the next step on our journey is to form our Multi-Academy Trust (MAT). As with any legal process there are several organisations involved and lots of boxes that need ticking and forms that need completing, but the process is well underway, and completion is expected by April. We will be called Penk Valley Academy Trust. For the most part you won’t notice many particular changes. All schools will go by their current names, their uniforms and badges will remain the same and the same familiar faces will be ‘behind the wheel’  Our guarantee is to continue to offer the best education that we can from nursery through to sixth form. People and Places of Penkridge celebrated with new artwork

A striking collection of new artwork by young people, entitled ‘People and Places of Penkridge’, has been created for Penkridge station on London Midland’s Birmingham to Liverpool route. The innovative designs, featuring photography of the Staffordshire market town and its people, were designed by five Year 12 Art and Design students at Wolgarston High School. James Bayliss, David Errington, Matthew Evans, Emily Harvey-Stephens and Harriet Murray are currently studying for a BTEC in Art and Design. The project, using double exposure photography, formed an important part of their coursework. The research process for the project involved working with the community, including local traders, to build up a portfolio of images to inform the final designs. The…

Marshbrook Receives Commendation from the Rt Hon Nick Gibb MP

Governors at St John’s CofE (C) First School in Bishops Wood have made the decision to join the Penk Valley Federation of Schools on 1 May 2017. Penkridge Middle Schools celebrates Ofsted achievement

Penkridge Middle School are celebrating a fantastic Ofsted report in which all aspects of the school were judged to be ‘Good’ with the subgroup of ‘personal development and welfare’ being classed as ‘Outstanding.’ Only days after appointing Natalie Frost, who had been Acting Head Teacher for the past twelve months, to the permanent role of Head Teacher, the school was visited on Tuesday 28th February and Wednesday 1st March by a team of inspectors from Ofsted. The inspectors thoroughly examined all aspects of the school, from behaviour and safeguarding to academic progression and quality of teaching. They observed lessons, met with governors and the leadership team and heard the views of students and parents, in order to make their decision about the quality of the whole school. Mrs Frost said, “This report is a wonderful reflection of the dedication of staff, pupils and parents that ensures Penkridge Middle School goes from strength to strength.
