As of Sunday 1 April 2018, the five schools in our federation have cemented their future together by becoming Penk Valley Academy Trust.
We have been operating as a federation of maintained schools since 2016 and have now taken the next step by converting to academy status.
As a group of schools, we are all unified by our commitment to Visible Learning, the highly-effective approach to educational excellence based on the research of Professor John Hattie.
For the most part, becoming schools with academy status will be ‘business as usual’ for students, staff and parents with the same leadership team at the helm. A new board of trustees has been formed to oversee the trust and comprises of a highly-skilled group of professionals and educationalists who have been selected to offer support and challenge to ensure our schools offer the education that our students and local community deserves.
Philip Tapp, Chief Executive of Penk Valley Academy Trust said, “This is a very exciting time for us. Our schools originally came together as a federation with a clear purpose to provide the very best education to our community of learners from nursery through to sixth form. Now we are Penk Valley Academy Trust this remains our goal. We are five schools now, but we hope to be joined by other like-minded schools, all committed to bringing the very best learning into the classroom.”
