Sixth Form students at Wolgarston High School in Penkridge are celebrating their success today with a top-drawer set of results both at A Level and BTEC. This means that once again Wolgarston is looking forward to taking its place at the top table of sixth form providers when the national league tables are published later in the year.
Head Teacher Philip Tapp said, “We are delighted to be celebrating another year with a strong set of results. Our congratulations go to all of the students and teachers for their fantastic hard work and dedication. For several years Wolgarston has been one of the best sixth forms around and we are proud to be able to continue this tradition of success in 2017.

44% of BTEC students (8/18) achieved three distinctions or higher
18% of A Level students (12/67) achieved three As or higher
29% of A Levels were graded at A or A*
Average grade at A Level of B- which is in-line with most independent schools
19% achieved AAB in facilitating subjects at A Level
42% of students (11/26) gained an A* in Mathematics
